Master degree in the University of life

We’ve started this february with very great news: We’ve already bought our ticket to India! Yes! Now there is no choice. We are flying from Istanbul to New Delhi in jully 25th. So only five months left to our journey to Ahimsa.

From our operations center in Istanbul, we continue with our trip planning. We are searching very carefully about:
-  visas we are going to need,
- places where we are going to be lost,
- musicians who we are going to colaborate with,
- transport we are going to take
-meals we are going to taste
- etc

For sure is going to be a very interesting trip.
We are spending a lot of hours in these staffs but the thing that it’s taking more time to prepare is our Ahimsa philosophy, because we really want to have a clear porpuse of our Asia trip.

We are not doing this project because we need a holiday time or because we want to forget our routine life for a while. We want to do this trip thinking that it is like a master degree we have to pass in the University of life.

We know that is not going to be easy at all because we will have to pass hard subjects like “how to manage our ego” “self-knowledge”, tolerance” “compassion”, “Inconditional love” “volunteering”,etc
We want to be a very good students therefore we are readding a lot of books related with asian religions and spirituals philosophies. We are also watching inspiring documentaries and movies which could help us to be even more motivated we already be. If somebody has any suggestion about books, articules, videos or something related with hope, motivation and world peace, please don’t hesitate to tell us. We will apreciate a lot your help.

This week we wanted to introduce you a person who perfectly could be one of our teachers in this master degree we are going to take in Asia.

His name is Narayanan Krishna, he was born in India and the porpuse of his life is to feed physically ( with food) and spiritually (with love and compassion) homeless and desabled from his home town who doesn’t have anything because they were born in a Indian cast called “untouchables”,

During next weeks we will continue reporting more details about our “subjects” and teachers of this particular master degree.

volunteering made in Ahimsa

Do you think it’s necesary to become a member of an NGO to change the world ? Do you really think you can change the other people’s life  giving 9 euros per month ? Is money the best way to help others?

We could answer these 3 questions with a humble and simple NO.

For a long time we've been watching in mass media’s news disasters, wars, material poverty and environmental destruction.
With this background we might think: The final apocalypse is coming! There is no chance for this world full of hatred, envy , greed and violence! We will desapper!
When we watch this kind of things on TV, suddenly inside us awakes something similar to a feeling :  Our compassionate nature. Besides that in our brain appears something like neon signs where we can read " I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ."

In this moment we start working on this sentence and we write in Google ( or even better in the search engine Ecosia ) " what can I do to change the world " ... in 0.56 seconds appears 136 million results .
We start to read different information and we found a thousands of NGOs which wants you to join them as a membership (providing an amount of 9 , 12 or 15 euros per month). We think maybe they are the solution to the world problems because They all say to you “With your money we will change the world ". But we don’t have to much money so we continue searching…

Then the word " voluntary " appears with the next phrase "give your effort to change the world ". We could think: This is what I want!  But unfortunately , when we had decided to volunteer in Asia , Africa or South America, the NGOs that manage this volunteering invite us to collaborate with our effort , passion and hard work but also with our  financial contribution that , in our humble opinion, is too much.

At the end of our search , we gave up because we were tired to read in different websites that saying “if you want to help to change the world you have to pay”.  We start thinking that NGOs are like a business and we feel disappointed. We reach to the next conclusion: We can’t help the world if we only have a good motivation… apparently we need money if we want to help this world.
So what can we do to change the world if we don’t want to help with money?

According to our philosophy Ahimsa ,there are many things we can do , but first we should think deeply about this question:
Do I have to fight to change the world or I have to change myself to see the change in the world?

In this sense , we find a quote that many people attributed to Gandhi , which could help us to answer this question.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

On our way to Ahimsa we want to be our own NGO. We strongly believe that a small action made by a person can help many people and many small actions made by many individual NGOs ( each of us ) , can create a big change in this wonderful world .

Let's start helping with small actions with ourselves, with our family, our neighbors , etc.  Let’s start to fill the world with small actions to help this planet be a better place to live.

We want to clarify that we are not against NGOs and we are sure that many of them are doing a wonderful job , nevertheless we think they are not the only way to help.

To finish this post, we want to share a video that could show us how a small action of kindness can change our lives and the other people’s lives.
